(Emanuel) Pineapples Lifestyle Bar is where open minds and curious hearts meet to socialise, connect and indulge in playful exploration. We are a friendly vetted community of discerning and adventurous adults who celebrate inclusivity, uninhibited pleasure and the art of expanding our sensual horizons.

Many of our friends were asking for the same things from a venue: A spacious lobby and walkways, lockers and a change room, toilets on all levels, a shower, open play spaces and private rooms, a licensed bar and open dancefloor on some nights. We decided about three an a half years ago that the only way these things would be available in one place is for us to build it. So we did.

We faced many, many challenges along the way. We were honest about how we wanted to use the building, which concerned some local residents. We appeased them via a number of open meetings, and designing our website to show how focused we are on creating a discerning, inclusive and consent focused community that respects the existing occupants' use of the area. The council was happy to grant our permit based on the various acoustic engineer and traffic management reports we had prepared, but then a local business appealed to VCAT. They attempted to create a smear campaign against us, using a petition and a gofundme page that got very little support. We ended up in mainstream media like the Herald Sun, The Age, The Dailey Mail in the UK and many local radio stations and podcasts. Thankfully the lifestyle community showed their support by commenting on the articles positively about our plans, which we really appreciate. The negative attention and delays were quite disheartening, but the community's support gave us the resolve and encouragement we needed to see our vision through to fruition.

We are creating something very new. Each night at Pineapples is different. Our ever-changing lineup of vaudeville shows on Thursday nights; social events like trivia, drag bingo and acoustic guitar performances on Friday nights; and various DJs playing different vibes on Saturday nights will keep our events fresh and exciting for our beloved frequent visitors and bold newcomers. You can visit multiple times in a month and have a very different experience.

Before you are able to purchase tickets to your first event, you will need to apply to become a member of our vetted community. Do this by visiting our member area, or attempt to purchase a ticket to one of our events. After you answer a few basic questions, a manager will contact you to ensure you understand and agree to follow our code of conduct.

Our society is increasingly relying on artificial intelligence and digital affirmations to define who they are and help them feel seen. Pineapples exists to emphasise the importance of real human connection. Our goal is to foster a communal space of inclusivity, physical freedom and education — a space for confident, discerning and consenting adults of all genders and relationship preferences to come together in a like-minded community that values presence, authenticity and shared experiences

Our Grand Opening sold out in only ten days, which is exciting and humbling. The other events that are selling fast are our Halloween Trivia on the 31st of October, Our first Club Pineapples on the 1st of November and our first Pineapples vaudeville show on the 6th of November.

We are proud to be associated with Red Hot Pie from the very early stages of our planning process. The directors were one of the first people to walk through our venue when we first signed our lease. RHP, their event listings and chat groups are an integral part of our long-term plan to engage the lifestyle community in new and exciting ways.
