If that's what you want to call yourself, then you are, if you want to call yourself something else, then that's what you are. Self acceptance and identity are important things, labels are not.

slut is just a nasty term designed to prevent women from having the same freedoms as men. heres an analogy. if a man steps in shit, his foot is just as dirty as if a woman steps in shit.

In the wonderful world of BDSM being called a slut can be quite a compliment. Your one night stand should at least be gracious enough to say thanks for a good time. Why do you want to put your sexual urges behind you? How about doing a lot less self analysis and doing a whole lot more living and getting what you want out of life. I did that and life is fantastic. We walk this earth just once. Enjoy your time while you are here. Live it up girl!!

I am in control of my sex life AND I am a slut. As for the rest of your concerns I think you should live like there's no tomorrow because we're a long time dead. Soon enough your body will reject this whole sex thing all together but for now, enjoy it while it lasts. Hugs Stalky

hi i would not call you a slut just some one who like time in the bed or where it calls you as for one night stand well as long as you are happy with how the night went and the guy was good to you and did not just show up and jump you then leave all is good but for guys that may read this as well when you meet a girl for the night that maybe only for the 1 time it should still be a good night maybe out for drinks or a meal or stay at home have a drink and a nice meal so that you make the most of it not just a jump as a jump you can go pay for it and just walk out but if you take your time and make the most of it you will think about it in years to come well that is just how a girl should be made feel not just a bit of meat to jump

I can think of three reasons a woman might think of herself as a slut. 1) She views it as a dirty thing and likes that. She may be proud of her unconventional sexuality or her power to seduce men. I knew a woman who liked to be called things like "slut" during sex with men. She still found it a negative word but was thrilled that it was being applied to her. 2) She views it as a positive thing and is trying to change the meaning of the word. People who have been called names as insults use them themselves, which takes some of the power out of the insult. My post will probably not get through if I list some of them but I'm sure you can use your imagination. 3) She views it as a negative thing and doesn't like that. This could be because she has used other people's values and they've found her lacking. She may enjoy making the decisions she does about sex but feel guilty about them because she's been taught somehow that she should. If this is the case, it's probably best for the woman in question to distance herself from the label. Either she could stop acting in a way that makes her think of herself as sluttish or change the way she views herself to be more positive. Instead of "slutty" a woman could be "confident", "open-minded about sex" or exactly the word you used - "in control". These aren't negative, guilt-imposing self-labels and they are much less likely to cause distress. The way we think about ourselves can make us physically and mentally unwell! It's better to do something about the negative thoughts we have about ourselves wherever possible. I've done this myself, although it's an ongoing process and I'm always learning to do it better. My negative self-label wasn't "slut" but I've had a few others. One suggestion I'd like to make is to consider choosing to have sex with respectful guys if you're concerned about what they will think about you. The system where a woman who has a lot of sex is a "slut" and a man who does the same is a "stud" is ridiculous - and of course the creation of men. You could look for men who won't put you down while bragging to their friends, "Man, I was with this total slut last night..." to get high-fives and accolades. Instead look for men who see women who make the sorts of choices about sex you do with more positive terms, like some of those above. I hope this helps! I know it's potentially inappropriate, me posting, as a man. But I've studied a little bit of feminism at uni and I think I successfully posted from a feminist perspective. But more importantly - it's my perspective. :)

Why worry about what your one night stand is thinking? He is not concerned about you thinking ill of him. I always recon that the day I am too old for sex is the day they lower me into a pine box and nail the lid shut. The question is.....Are you happy with how you conduct your life? That is the only question you should worry about. I tell my daughter she is a slut and she answers with "And your problem is?"

"am I in control of my sex life or am I a becoming a slut"For ages people have ben calling women, who are in control of their sex lives, sluts. It's a method of control. If we call you a slut when you make decisions about who/when/where you fuck, then you hopefully won't do it and instead you will conform and be good, go get married and pop out babies like you're meant too, blah, blah, blah. For thousands of years men have been afraid of the woman who is aware of her sexual power and will use it.In an ideal world the term slut wouldn't be wheeled out at all, but it's not an ideal world and indeed most men think badly of a woman who is in control of her sex life and still chooses to have many partners, so my recommendation is to embrace ithe term and be proud of being a slut and fuck the patriarchy!OK, the above rant doesn't really address your question though about caring what your one night stand thinks of you. I should hope, as someone in control of her sex life, that you would only fuck someone who thinks you're a "slut" (in the most derogatory meaning of that word) because you get off on it. It would seem by your post that you have issues with the term slut, and with it being applied to you. So should you care? NO! Do you care? Yes.Show the control you DO have over your sex life and kick the tosser to the kerb (although one night stand I'm assuming he's gone anyway?).

Slut - Well my definition ‘Someone that has fucked everyone but me. Sob Sob’ LOL . Really in the end, who really cares- the poor sob not getting any? The people having fun don’t. Its is only used as a hurtful term. As for people using it in a playful term. Personally I think this is the only term it should be used in. I think we are all sluts (Sexy Lustful Unique Talented)

About the only thing we really own when we come into and leave this world is our own body...along with the mind, spirit and ever elusive soul. The rest...we are only stewards until it's time to go on the next leg of the journey. I plan on enjoying the ride whilst I am here, thanks. | The Urban Dictionary has really messed up a lot of great old words...even ones used by Chaucer in the mid 1300s when he said "sluttish" was a man who was a slob. Clean up your mess, guys. Around the mid 1400s it was synonymous with a kitchen maid or a drudge as they used to call them back then. Check out some old English maritime writer from the 1600s who described his favourite serving girl as "an admirable slut..pleases us mightily, doing more service than both the others and deserves wages better". Maybe you can see where the "root" of this word is going to end up later? | I am not a slut...just your garden variety tart, but since I can cook and keep my house in good order, maybe I am a slut? Oh well, have a lot to do today so... | back to the kitchen to rattle my pots and pans.

I enjoy the company of men and women and often many of them in a short time frame...thus I am proud to be called a slut...soosy - they are one night stands...who cares what they think??? as long as everyone had a good time it really doesnt matter . take your slut mantle - wear it with pride and call NEXT!!! . oh and Fionabee you have yourself a deal... . Thats is maybe the greatest statement of all time ''Sluts are a important part of our social stucture'' Awesome2some that is genius my friend, i want that on a t shirt, move over E=M2. You think about it, if we remove all the sluts in the world, gone vanished, you could well be extinguishing the very flame that drives us to excel, no more rock bands, whats the point!!, moonlanding..gone, man probably would'nt even of bothered to stand upright. so i salute all those sluts out there the forgotten heros or our social stucture. it is a important thing you do, dont forget it!

I find everyones comments reassuring and consoling I am not sure if I am worried about being a slut or visualising myself as one but I am enjoying myself. I dont think I will ever be as accepting as Stalky but I have been a good girl for so long and the other girl inside is glad to be set free.

Well I know that we have no concerns if either of us is called a slut, and as some have said we wear the label with pride as to us it confirms that we are indeed in charge of our destiny. Our thoughts are simple, if you are doing something you want, at a time you want, where you want, with whomever you want, than you are in control and no slut. Besides, in the simple act of sex it takes two so if you are a slut (by another's definition) is not the other party the same? No, look at it as others have said, if you are happy and comfortable than who cares what some people may label it, as it is they with the problem and not youShebagaz

Quoting 'soosy'I find everyones comments reassuring and consoling I am not sure if I am worried about being a slut or visualising myself as one but I am enjoying myself. I dont think I will ever be as accepting as Stalky but I have been a good girl for so long and the other girl inside is glad to be set free. For 28 years i was a pretty well conforming woman and then I found the real him under his rough exterior and now we are trying tomake up for all the lost fun. Bad/fun girls can't be kept oppresed forever.

Funny that I get told I think too much too - and not in a good way. And he is right.Soosy - I know what you mean you just get to a point in your life where you do become free of past constraints. I understand what you mean totally. You are not a SLUT - I think you are just a women of the Naughties. A women who realises what she wants and goes out and gets it and but always retains that touch of class. GOOD WORK!!!!!!!xxMeeka

To me, a slut is someone who uses sex not just for pleasure, but as a tool to manipulate or hurt others. I knew a young master manipulator who was manipulating four different men at the same time and playing mind games with all of them, playing them off against each other for her own twisted amusement, intentionally driving them to the edge with jealousy then reeling them back in with sex and fake feelings. She is a slut. It can also be someone who lies and cheats on their partner (im not talking about swingers or open relationships, but rather those in a committed relationship who sleep around behind their partners' back). Those are just my definitions, and they apply to both men and women.
