depends on who you are going with, the type of holiday. I went with a girlfriend to Thailand for 3 weeks and it has been my most favourite holiday for fun and adventure. We did and experienced a lot. A very close second was Vietnam for the scenery and the culture and people. I went with my mum, her partner and my brother. Favourite and only real family holiday was when I took my kids on a cruise last year, not having to cook and clean meant more bonding time and less nagging to get things done and it was a wonderful family time. Taking them all to Bali next month along with their girlfriends this time. I am sure we will have a blast. My least favourite holiday was China. I am still glad I went but it wasn't very relaxed, went with my mum and her partner before, actually it was their holiday that I hijacked and just as well I did. If they could have got out of the airport without me, they would have killed each other. Dream holiday yet to come...I would love to holiday with a man, hopefully before I am too old to enjoy it, and cruise the islands of Greece on a yacht. Drifting in the blue waters, sleeping till noon, sex on the deck while soaking up some sunshine. I would really love that, hopefully it is something I get to fulfill.

That's not surprising i guess, it being so close and our money going so far there. Here in WA it seems to be the number one go to destination as it's cheaper to reach than the eastern states. I haven't bothered to visit it yet..it doesn't really appeal..living like a wealthy person in a poor country isn't my thing. I've only visited NZ a few times..i love the countryside..and my place of birth, PNG. But in February I'm going to Iceland to do some trekking in the mountains then hanging out in the capital. It looks like an amazing place..it'll be in arctic winter..with hot springs in the snow, volcanoes and waterfalls everywhere. Has anyone else been to Scandinavia in winter? I'm open to advice.

But our favorate holiday was to Northern Queensland where we travelled around and camped in tents for 3 weeks While we generally arnt camping people it was the last holiday we went on with all the kids could come before our oldest left school and started work We were packed up like the Grizwalls on national lampoon , experienced 125mm of rain over night all the kids had to pitch in and yes we had a few hizzy fits thrown in and my wife wanted to give the tents to anyone who would take them by the time we got home but we had a great time and still all laugh and talk about it about it now 3 years later - Posted from rhpmobile

I love,Paris,it really is the most romantic city...pity I was there alone...Florence and Venice, overwhelmingly beautiful and just amazing.....the art is not just in galleries but all around you..for cat lovers Venice is your city.. A personal quirky favourite is Glasgow..It is so ugly it is beautiful and the people are wonderful...funny as..When I go to Bali,I stay in a village in the north...Hang out with my Balinese friends on the beach, they sell sarongs and jewellery to tourists, there is no competition because they are a collective... But if you want a different experience go to Seminyak, rent a villa complete with butler:)...I live in Queensland ,close to the water, always seems like a holiday here...and one of my favourite places in the world is Noosa..has it all really..beautiful beach,National Park, chafes for people watching, just enough shops for the shopaholic ...and great restaurants :) xxFreya

From a resort type place, Tahiti has some great hotels OMG but the main township is pretty dirty - other interesting places like Jeju Island is like are we still in Sth Korea LOL...but then coming home to NZ where you just have to admire the beautiful scenery and Tasmania are so breathtaking ....then a fav place for our family to just chill out believe it or not is right on our doorstep in Brisbane... Point Lookout in Nth Stradbroke Island....it all really depends on what your looking for...the beauty of being in the GC and Brisbane is there so many choices right here in QLD.....

Spain is amazing, especially Barcelona. The culture, the food, the mix of European cathedrals and Muslim influence in the south of Spain. Berlin is another amazing mix of such interesting history and London and I have a love hate relationship with. I am more of an being active in nature than sitting by a pool and shopping sort of person so highlights would be numerous walking trips to Tasmania wilderness and rock climbing in Yosemite in the USA and would love to get to Yosemite again. Can't believe I haven't got to the South Island of NZ yet for some walking. The Milford, Routeburn and Kepler tracks come to mine. Cheers, W. - Posted from rhpmobile

I wasn't born or raised in Australia so many of my favourite holidays have been here. I loved camping in Mackay and visiting the GBR, Darwin and Katherine are gorgeous and I really love the South-west and south coast of WA. I also love Bali, and it's not about luxury, it's a beautiful country. The last time I went there I went geocaching (look it up) and I ended up seeing some amazing places that the average tourist never sees. There's also a lot to be said for tropical warmth and regular massage.... 😉 I'm going again in January - see you there Ralf 😊

We did the south Island in a hire car a few years back as a family. Loved the scenery. We've done Bali too many times to count but still go back, love the place, the food and the people. And cheaper than a weekend in Perth. Going back in Jan for a week to unwind.

I've been here less than 3 years so I love seeing new parts of Australia. I've been to QLD a few times and I love it. I'm spending 2 weeks there in December. I went to Thailand earlier this year and had the best time. I believe it's not where you go but what you make of it :)

the back of the hq ute in swags gazing up at the stars while the camp fire begins to dwindle.... The aeroguard staining the air like a radical tie dye, as we listen to the calming and tranquil sound of a light breeze.... Give me that over some middle class to high end snob ville resort with the accompanying "country club" style wankers any day. 😊 - Posted from rhpmobile

Different places in my lifetime. Exotic, mundane, scary, adventurous, far far away. But by far the best holiday ice had on a long time was 4 days in Sydney last month with a man I met on RHP. IDYLLIC.

We've been lucky to have been away so many times. Both of us have family overseas so there's always a reason to travel (like we need one anyway). Top favs are Paris, Turkey and Amsterdam. Closer to home nothing beats a weekend away in Margaret River.

Lhasa Tibet!!! Oh my god. Okay very very interesting but far out the altitude was really tough for me. I suppose it didn't help that bones a heavy smoker at the time. We got all the way to base camp at the bottom of Mount Everest, did you get there? That was really amazing.

Meeka, it was 1986, just before the Chinese came in. We travelled from there to Kathmandu by bus and passed by Everest in the distance at the highest point, but didn't have a chance to get closer. The Tibetans were a welcoming and kind people. We visited temples full of thousands of Buddhas in all shapes and forms. Not long after, all visitation to Tibet was prohibited.
