    You know we don't have some sort of giant WhatsApp group with half the men in Australia in it coordinating who we should all message at the same time right?? Everyone is just an individual doing their thing. There's a 0% chance of getting a reply to a message that you don't send and, from what I can see, most of the messages are pretty reasonable actually. The idea that you would make a profile on this site, then complain that you are receiving messages from the very people you've expressed interest in is ridiculous. You could of course pay for a membership, shut down your inbox from receiving messages, go through and find the people you like, and send them a message yourself.

    Yes Brian Reynolds I was a bit HUH? when I saw this person's whinging. You got ALL those messages? Many people on here get bugger all, I'd have a bit more gratitude that people were noticing my profile. I also find if you word your profile in certain ways,it will turn.off the RootRats from contacting you. I tend to get most people who are polite in their queries. I wish I could get insight on this person's profile words but alas they have blocked it, as no.Feedback can be given. Which is kind of convenient if you ask me....

    Yeah, no surprise there - that’s what happens when you join a platform like RHP. It’s not a shock, it’s expected. Some guys are creeps, sure, but a lot of those messages you listed weren’t even bad - just basic intros or guys trying their luck. It’s not some coordinated attack, it’s just dudes rolling the dice in a space where getting a reply is like winning the lottery. You came to a wild party and now you’re upset the music’s too loud.

    I thought it might be worth sharing for anyone else feeling the overwhelm- even on a guest account you do not have to have your inbox open. You don’t even need to have your profile open. Above are the setting I use on a guest account which means nobody can message or even view my profile unless I like them. So the onus is on me to make contact, and I don’t have to worry about ignoring guys who I am not interested in connecting with.

    I can relate. Ive had seven messages in two years, and i tell ya, it does my head in! I finallygot round to responding to the sixth one last week, she was single when she sent it, now turns out shes married with a kid.

    New here, must be nice getting a message as I've had a profile for over 36 hours now and haven't even had anyone look at my profile let alone a message. I'd like to think I'm not coming across as predatory or threatening but idk, it's been a long time since I even had a proper conversation. I'm also not fond of paying for something straight off the bat if I don't know whether it works or not. Basically, any advice on just getting women to look at me would be great 👍. Yes, I'm aware I have bugger all confidence, hence why I'm trying to put myself out there to gain some.

    I see some constructive criticism, but I also see some victim shaming. I don't claim to understand, but I have seen attractive women get harassed in public after politely saying no, when just trying to go about their business. I don't blame any woman for being defensive when a lot of men can't seem to control their own testosterone. After all this is what makes us guys unable to stop perving on women. But, it crosses a line when you don't treat them with respect.
