Perth - Favorite drinks and nibbles

November 15 2017

We enjoy a good drink and nibble when we have time to get out and relax. It would also be nice to expand our social circles more. What are some of your favourite local spots to enjoy a drink and a nibble, reasonably priced and with a nicer view than just the road with cars passing by. Places with couch type seating or atleast some kind of decent cushioning and back support rate high on the list as well as good cold brew coffee and local cider/gin/port :) - Posted from rhpmobile

I do remember the lucky shag did do a rather good Pimm's jug some years back when I was there one afternoon. And now there's that upstairs rooftop aqua bar place? Might have to wander out and see what's on the menu when we wind down after the brain drain of this week. - Posted from rhpmobile

Cold brew coffee, de-constructed sandwiches and smashed arvo and drinking drinks out of jam jars leaves me, er cold! That would be the last place I would go, for a snack! I’m glad I’m older when I see and hear what the hipsters of today are up to! M_D4 - Posted from rhpmobile

Don't be so quick to pounce on us cold brew lovers. It's very refreshing when done well. A bit of added lemon tops it off nicely. As for smashed avocado well....that continues to be a ridiculous ripoff - Posted from rhpmobile

Whenever I travel to Perth for business, I love to find good places for drinks and ambience. Like a slice of Melbourne. I enjoy the Andaluz and The Spaniard bars for the food drinks and atmosphere. Also the prices are reasonable. My go to places in the west.

Andaluz is one of my favourites too. Got to go there again a couple of weeks ago when I was in Perth for work. Food is sensational. Another great place (similar location to Andaluz) is Helvetica. Cafecurious, The Mechanics Institute has just won some big WA hospitality award... saw it in the Perthnow website yesterday. Never been there, but it must be ok if they're winning awards. All the bars in the Print Hall are also worth checking out.

Only been to Andaluz once but it did turn out to be the start of a very interesting evening ;) We are certainly overdue to enjoy a good night out exploring some more gin and things... I should suggest Frisk on that note, though they do need some softer seating. Tiki as FK also looks very cosy, and lots of nice rum, still on the to-do list - Posted from rhpmobile

We have always enjoyed Little Creatures Next Door when we head Fremantle way. While not a particular fan of the noisy barn that is Little Creatures, Next Door is as the name suggests just around to the right and upstairs in the part of the old Lombardo's building that was once called the Loft. It has all the Little Creatures booze options, but with an assortment of eclectic lounge seating overlooking the fishing boat harbour and a menu of good share plate style food if you like to eat. Very laid back and comfortable, big but still an intimate feel, music but not so loud as to stop you talking, and an awesome view. Occasionally we go by boat in the late afternnon, tie up out the front and it is 20 feet to the outside stairs and a nice cold drink as the sun goes down. Afterwards it is only 3 minutes to the main street and Benny's if you want a crowd and a dance once they clear out their tables and the band comes on after 10 ish on the weekend. Enjoy! We like Bar 399 on William Street in Northbridge but also the Cork and Bottle in Bassendean, 150 East Side, Ascot for view and comfort, Toast in Claisebrook for unlicensed fare, the Boat Shed in South Perth, the Old Brewery with views of the river, yatchs, and King's Park, the Blue Duck at Cotts, the Marina in Mindarie and of course, the ShoreHouse at Swanbourne beach. Whew. Good places for varing budgets. - Posted from rhpmobile

the swan valley indeed and also various bits of Fremantle, particularly down south terrace way beyond the markets. And some of the side/back streets along the main area. Still ticking off various places on the valley map. Always something interesting to go and try, a new cider flavour at Funk or the coffee of the month at Yahava, rekindle our tastebuds with some nice sweet wines and other treats. - Posted from rhpmobile

Pinchos in Leederville is great food and great ppl watching. A great way to start a night. Then you have all the bars at your feet to choose from. Expresso martinis at Armani highly recommended. - Posted from rhpmobile

The Royal on the Waterfront... kinda like the Lucky Shag, but more space. I love the Shag, but always find it gets too overcrowded
