Chlamydia is big in Sydney and one time at band camp... I went to a big bi sex party and I basically just watched, I didn't have sex with anyone but I did come across a few stray hands touching me. It was a nude party so we were all naked. Within a 24 hrs I had a burning sensation. I believe I got chlamydia from somebody's hands. Transference.

Due to a mild medical condition I am more prone to infections. This means that probably most people's immune system would have been able to fight it off... But mine couldn't on this occasion. Aren't I a lucky girl! :-/

Really, theres no such thing as safe sex.a condom doesnt stop a lot of the major sti's because we are all hands and mouths before we even get to the condom part. I was reading recently that crabs are scarse now because majority of ppl now are hair free in the genital area. Crabs need warm moist hair. So thats a plus. But on the flip side of not having hair, herpies is on the rise because you catch it skin to skin, so hair down there was a barrier. Doesnt matter if you use a condom with herpies because the rubber only covers the willy, and herpies virus could be on the base of the penis or on the outer lips of the vagina. So its skin to skin contact with areas of our body that arent covered by a condom. Bit scarey hey? The safest sex you will ever have is on your own✋

To expect people to wash between partners.

Good post. But selfsex All tge time? Not that much fun is it? Lol. But to prevent skin to skin transference of herpes then we should all be wearing latex undies with appropriate holes built into them. Is that sexy? ;-)

Good response. Amazes us that so many don't consider the risks of oral. If one looks at the majority of the snowballing and rimming comments, on past threads, it's indicative that most don't care. - Posted from rhpmobile

Haha, to some ppl Im sure latex bloomers would be extremely sexy. Or go the whole hog and wear a latex body suit. Im sure some ppl would prefer that actually. Personally, I need the feel of hands, mouths and direct body heat/contact on my skin.much sexier for stimulation in my opinion. 😜

I have also been a little irresponsible too at times, sometimes I get carried away in the moment and fortunately the other partner often stops me in my tracks. I find condoms such passion killers but they are necessary. I am also of the opinion that they don't stop everything, I refuse to suck on a condom, they taste like shit so I never use a condom for oral. I am prone to coldsores too which is the herpes simplex virus so I don't give oral or kiss when I have one, actually I just try to avoid sex altogether because sex isn't fun without either of them.

are so uneducated when it comes to STDs and STIs. Herpes is on the rise because people don't give a shit. I've come across both males and females who have it but won't tell potential partners, feel the tingle but still go out and pick up a random, one guy went as far as saying the more people that get it, the better his odds are. I have genital herpes, I've had it since 17 and as long as the person with it takes the right precautions and is safe, chances of transmitting the disease, are really quite minimal. Obviously there is still a chance, there's no 100% guarantee. That aside, I've never gotten anything else 😊 - Posted from rhpmobile

Agree with your post. The parties and groups Ive been involved with are,Im happy to say, over the top with washing/showering hygene between partners.Even hand washing after squirting a woman, before touching anyone else is adhered to.It might not stop nasties from being shared, but it shows its a concious concern in those situations to be as safe as possible. I personally feel safer playing in that environment than 1on 1 lately.

Parties and clubs I have been too there is not a lot of washing between partners. You never see anyone wearing gloves, or almost never. Group sex is a high risk activity. But getting an STD is not so horrendous though. I just see it as catching a cold... Except a lot are easier to get rid of then a common cold.

And Im not sure how larger parties or clubs go.Only done smaller ones, and tend to stick in the same circles.(but would love to attend one of those bi orgy ones, probably to just watch... Maybe) but youre right, its easier to catch a cold or the flu. Lol.

Though I've been lucky enough to avoid anything, my 'theoretical' view is similar to Meeks's - it wouldn't be the worst thing to catch an STI (HIV excepted I think) - my understanding is that most are easily treated. So, I don't think it would be horrendous. Mr Inadditionto though feels otherwise- on the basis that he would be mortified to contact partner/s to tell them as well as putting up with presumably uncomfortable symptoms. My view is that everyone in the lifestyle (or anyone not in a monogamous sexual relationship) accepts the element of risk, so would be 'receptive' to hearing it to look after their own sexual health. But I don't know! Do people take it well? Inadditionto (Mrs) - Posted from rhpmobile

All the people I dealt with took it well and even made fun of me. The doctor even rang me up to tell me to come in as my results were in and his opening line was "well you have been a naughty girl and you need to come see me. "

Your GP sounds cool. Mine, on learning that we're swingers, said (and I quote) "oh, there's a group of those at my daughter's school; it's becoming quite the trend" Bahahah. Inadditionto (mrs) - Posted from rhpmobile

Is there any products on the market, like some sort of sanitising wipe, that would be able to be supplied (like lube and condoms are) at clubs for use between partners, to help minimize risks to catching or passing something on?

Quoting 'Meeka100' But getting an STD is not so horrendous though. I just see it as catching a cold... Except a lot are easier to get rid of then a common cold. Antibiotic resistance is becoming a big, big issue and that includes for bacterial STDs. Gonorrhea is a prime example, it's become resistant to a lot of the standard antibiotics used to treat it and it's causing big problems in some parts of the world including the U.S. Really only a matter of time before it becomes an issue here as well. Given the dire situation with antibiotics it's a distinct possibility that there will be a time in the future when getting a bacterial STD will be a very big deal, because we just won't have the antibiotics to treat them.

Hopefully someone will come up with a solution. Considering the money pharmaceuticals make I am Sure someone is working on it. Yes I have a few good GPs. Most of the time you don't know when you picked something up or from who so the doctors suggest you contact everyone you have had sex with in the past 12 mths!!! He told me about a medical online service where you can put somebodies mobile phone in the system and they get sent an text message saying something along the lines of, please get checked for these STDs as you may be at risk. Can you imagine getting that text! But it is a way of staying anonymous if you want.

Do we stop driving cars, people die. Fast food causes obesity with its problems. life is a risk. We have the choice of what we do. Who wants to live without living. We all have a choice, its ours to make.

A friend of mine is a gay man. He picked up gonorrhea from either oral or (more likely, he reckons) some heavy frotting. He uses condoms for penetration but not for oral, and there was some genital-genital contact there (that can hardly be called penetration) that sounds like the culprit. He is also a medical doctor and one of the most intelligent, well-researched people I have ever met. If he's having oral sex sans condom with men from gay cruise apps (who can be rather promiscuous), he knows what he's doing. Whereas he'd never ever do that with anal sex. So clearly there's a difference in the levels of risk. The OP posed whether the STI risk from oral sex may be as high as from penetrative. That's a yes from the bacterial infections that can live in the back of the throat only. As others have pointed out, they are curable. Then Luck Dragon said that could change in the future due to antibiotic resistance, which is scary. As for the others, the viral and incurable (but still treatable), there's a much lesser risk. The risk of HIV is practically non-existent unless the receptive partner has open wounds in their mouth or throat. The risk of herpes is very low because the genital strain (HSV-2) prefers not to live in the mouth, cold sores are almost always caused by HSV-1, which in the same way doesn't often transfer to the genitals. It can happen that someone has HSV-2 living in their mouth/throat, being introduced by oral sex, that then transfers to genitals. Occasionally HSV-1 will make genitals its home, but I'm told an outbreak will be much lesser than the initial outbreak of HSV-2. Still, avoid oral sex when cold sores are present. I don't think it's possible for a mouth to get the wart virus from genitals A and pass them on to genitals B with immediate oral sex in a group situation, but don't quote me on that. If the risk exists it's slim, provided genitals A aren't covered in visible warts. Rimming poses the extra risks of Hep A and E. coli (bacteria, commonly responsible for food poisoning). Fork out and get vaccinated against Hep A, like I did. It also means I can eat Chinese frozen berries with impunity. There's no vaccine against E. coli. It's naturally present in the lower human digestive system where it does no harm, unless it's introduced by the mouth into the upper digestive system. Then it's an unpleasant few days, I hear. I stay away from rimming except through a latex barrier for that reason.

Quoting 'Jetset_couple' Is there any products on the market, like some sort of sanitising wipe, that would be able to be supplied (like lube and condoms are) at clubs for use between partners, to help minimize risks to catching or passing something on? It's the action of cleaning that is the most beneficial part, not so much the chemical in any product. Most things commonly used for cleaning hands would sting and irritate the genitals, anus and mouth. Use them to wash hands, by all means. A normal shower/wash is best for delicate bits. There are those feminine hygiene wipes on the market. They could help if shower is unavailable. They mightn't taste as good for the next oral sex partner as a shower would've, though... Many years ago I did hear about an experimental anti-viral gel that was thought to be suitable for application to genitals, and would help reduce the spread of HIV, herpes and warts. I haven't heard anything about it since so it can't have been the miracle it first sounded like. If it was as safe as first thought it'd probably already be added to condoms and lube. Watch that space, though, in case it does appear in the future.
