But to the topic at hand, couch surfing & sleeping rough sucks big time, so glad you have a place for a month to make plans, think things through, and hopefully talk things out. Not that a month is very long when negotiating huge upheavals, just be true to you and don't let yourself be treated like a doormat. And don't spend the month moping even though you probably want to, you can't go back to sleeping rough regularly, it's too dangerous. No advice honey, do what's right for you, just sending Huge Hugs, Corinader xxx

If after a month your overseas options haven't come to fruition or your partner is still looking for herself, may I suggest trying a Backpackers. They have weekly rates, usually quite cheap if you share a dorm.

You certainly have some decisions to make but sleeping rough like that can be dangerous... But you don't need me to tell you that....Perhaps use this month to decide where you want to go...where you want to be...the world is all there...now you have freedoms that perhaps haven't been in your life for years...good luck and nmif you hope Mon your bike and head for Queensland, let me know.....I don't have an uncut cock:-) but I have a couch:-) :-) xx Q

Quoting 'Smilingwithfun' If after a month your overseas options haven't come to fruition or your partner is still looking for herself, may I suggest trying a Backpackers. They have weekly rates, usually quite cheap if you share a dorm. The strange thing is, that Aarows is just $20 a night, whereas a backpacker establishment can be 4 times that amount. Of course you're not meant to sleep at Aarows... but how much sleep would I really get at a backpackers? I have a friend who went through this... he basically bought a 23 year old bride much to the delight of her celebrating family, it's grubby capitalist exploitation, of course, which I hate from a philosophical point of view... but the idea of providing twin 25 year old dominatrix ladies a new home and a warm bellied dirty daddy to watch over them while they mature into totally independent vixens is not such a bad outcome, surely? Win win... A great 18 month social experiment. What's the worse thing that can happen? I wonder. HugsGazpacho

I have no idea what you should do Gaz, but I wish my nearly 30something kid would finish leaving home so I could get on with 'finding myself' as I await the onset of menopause!!! Nah seriously, I think I could say I've been doing some finding of myself since I turned 50 a few months ago. I've found that involves getting closer to those I love though. They've been a strong support as I've gone through emotions. . It's kinda typical innit though, you think you're heading to a time of your life where you get to settle down and enjoy what you have, and then life throws you for a loop. . So to answer in my pedantic way, maybe spend the time finding yourself, maybe don't assume you're going to go back to what you've known... it's all hidden behind the curtain of the future innit. . Who knows? That's Life! Peachy wishing you and yours all the best.

Runawayoincircz - I just left my doctors surgery. He told me to beg and plead and spend a $1000 on chocolates an roses and stuff ~ been there done that kind of thing for him. He probably has a point, but the prospect of wild abandon after half a lifetime of the ball and chain is a mighty strong instinct to deny. Peaches, you're exactly right and thank you. There's no turning back time, I think we've had that conversation before ~ it's life's circumstances that help mould us into the better people we become. I'm not into the ruffing it thing... but it was interesting for a night. Despite a plan, I just found myself without a place to go at the late hour involved. I now have a back up strategy.. to sleep under my desk at the office should it ever come to that. lol. You know you an buy a neat little single bed mattress thingy at Ikea that is really really comfy and roll it up.. it fits in a stationery cabinet! Freedoms... I can take on those projects I never could before... like travelling to Sri Lanka and building shelters. Humanity workers. How on earth do they live a regular life? HugsGazpacho

Ha! I am sure Gazpacho your friend won't mind you staying longer. But best leave the Russian brides for now eh. LOL. Personally I would be upset if I thought a friend was roughing it when I have plenty Of space at my place.... Although I guess that means people have to put up with me. Lucky I'm not into vibrating toys. :p Interesting opening statement by the way.

Mado that is terrible advice! :O Gaz, I don't think humanity workers want to live a regular life. If I had lots of money behind me I would definitely do that for a few years. Going somewhere new every few months, new people, new country.... What would be better than that!

You know how visual I can be, just visualising Gazpacho's friend ariving home too find half a dozen bi Russian brides, some island fellows, as a matter of true old fashioned imagination any one who has an un cut cock, the ticket in, I mean would that friend be so, so surprised or just glad to be home. Gaspacho has a bit of a reputation too uphold, well that's just the visual concept, no idea how all that came to mind. It just happens

I love you guys. You're all so generous and empathic. The RHP community is pretty cool, I reckon. I'm quite comfortable in my friend's flat for now and I think time is required. I love my wife without reservation, but she ain't happy and I can't stand that so I've removed everything I can think of that might make her unhappy... unfortunately for me, I was one of them things. lol. Time could tell me what my wife wants (or I may never know) and what I want. There's no going back. Our relationship is going to be different to before, whatever happens from here on in, even if we ultimately end up shacked up together again. It's certainly a challenge though, after more than half my lifetime, being married and now "estranged". I don't know how to be single! hehe. What do I put on my facebook page? So many decisions. I'm going to HAVE TO BUY an Xbox ONE while I ponder the future and the consequences.... HugsGazpacho

Who knows Gazpacho, this could make your relationship better or this is what you both need in order to head into your golden years together. A bit of reflection and re-evaluation of your life and where you are headed can be a good thing. Change can be positive. Otherwise I am happy to show you how to be single. Although the danger is that one of you may decide you like the single life a little too much. So watch out! ;-)
