  It's all about efficiency. Missing out the 'h' in what 'might' not seem like a big deal on just one message, but when you send hundreds of messages a week that's potentially saving several minutes of typing time. Obviously, these guys haven't mastered the efficiency though, because the 's' on the end is totally redundant. They should also be using numbers instead of words and shortening words to a single letter wherever possible. e.g. Wat u up 2 Wat u lookin 4?

  WatUup2 is a common one too. Either just laziness or trying to look edgy. An articulate message is actually quite sexy.

  It’s a secret language which flags to you that the sender and yourself may not really be compatible. I think it’s great that people use these sorts of words as it allows you to filter them out straight away.

  I don’t message many men so I can only comment on the female response. It’s dire. But I am a sticker for grammar. I’m likely one of those arseholes that everyone talks about in a disparaging way. In fact Abi tells me that’s exactly the case.
